Тиоколы (жидкие полисульфидные полимеры) - серосодержащие реакционноспособные олигомеры с активными концевыми группами, отверждающиеся в композициях с различными наполнителями. Вязкая однородная жидкость темного цвета с зеленоватым или коричневатым оттенком без посторонних включений и специфическим запахом, присущим меркаптанам. Полисульфидные полимеры стойки к действию масел, нефтяных топлив, кислот, щелочей, озона, солнечного света, радиации, имеют высокую газонепроницаемость, невзрывоопасны, трудногорючи, нетоксичны. Предназначены для изготовления герметизирующих паст, которые применяются в авиационной промышленности, судостроении, электропромышленности, радиоэлектронике и гражданском строительстве.
